While all of us would love the option of being luxury vacationers to one of the five Hawaiian Islands, the reality is that the majority of American travelers are unable to do this. Hawaii, one of the top vacation locations for American travelers, is also one of the most expensive. Nonetheless, you don’t have to spend your vacation surrounded by smoke soaked curtains, mildew garnished restrooms, and bad customer service.
Many of you will pay a minimum of 2,000 dollars per person for basic air an…

There’s nothing like sitting on the porch with a nice cold beer and a bag of crawfish, watching the pedestrians walk by, each offering a “good evening” salute as they go about their business. The air is so humid that it appears almost as a haze in the air. One might see the evening lights of ships trailing down the Mississippi. Perhaps the beer will put you to sleep until about 11:00, just enough time to get dressed and explore the nooks and crevices of the city until the wee hours of the mornin…

Well I did it. I made the plunge and got my ticket, seven days of purifying and cleansing in the Caribbean Ocean. Honestly, I wanted to be a bit more adventurous and head to an Ashram in India but I am not sure I have built up enough courage as a solo traveler to go that far! Normally, I prefer to travel on my own without having to conform to a set schedule. My beach bum tendencies usually land me in cabanas by the beach with nothing but indulgence in pure laziness. Nevertheless, who could resis…

This is a marvelous idea for those of you who are solo travelers...
Couchsurfing, though not a new concept, is a great way to network with fellow travelers from all walks of life. The golden rule, however, is "if I share my couch with you, you have to share your couch with me". While this style of traveling works well for some , it may not be the best fit for all. How many of you would host a couchsurfer in your home?

Although the world seems very small at times, we must always remember the little crevices and unexploited terrain. Those of your who are "Globetrekkers by any means" know that usually the best places are the locations with the least amount of tourists. They are the places that you just so happen to randomly encounter, often when you're doing something that you are not supposed to do.....Frommer's has a nice list of some semi-untapped locations (although they are still pretty mainstream for those…
